Islamic Careline

Islamic Careline is a voluntary counseling service set up by and functioning under the auspices of the Jamiatul Ulama SA (formerly Transvaal). It started in 1992.
OBJECTIVES
The primary motivation for this service was social problems in Muslim society like drugs, alcohol, AIDS, women abuse, etc. Careline provides counselling for abused women and children, HIV/AIDS counseling, trauma debriefing via telephone and face to face. Careline has trained female counselors consisting of social workers, psychologists, etc.

Training on Problem-solving Skills;
Marital and Family Problem Counseling;
Child Abuse Matters;
Lifestyle Education Program for schools;
Drug Awareness Program: Careline has a good working relationship with Nishtara and other anti-drug institutions;
Skills Training for Unemployed Women;
Financial, Personal/Emotional Problems Counseling;
General Counselling and Information
Running Muslim AIDS Program with Jamiat SA and Islamic Medical Association;
University of Witwatersrand sends their social work students for practical application of their knowledge to Islamic Careline. %
