AN ATHEIST challenged Abu Hanifa (rahimahullah) to a debate.
The time and date were set. The atheist was waiting yet Abu Hanifah (rahimahullah) came half an hour late. The atheist berated him.
Abu Hanifah (rahimahullah) said, "I would have been on time but on the way I beheld an amazing sight which held me spell-bound. Without any apparent cause, I saw trees being felled. Automatically they were cut into timber and formed themselves into boats which set sail on the river with no one steering them."
The atheist said that this was utterly false and baseless. Abu Hanifah (rahimahullah) said, "If you cannot accept this small miracle, how is it possible for the entire universe to come into existence and work perfectly without any designer or fashioner?" The atheist became Muslim on hearing this argument.
