Love for Kids

The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam's attitude towards children was always compassionate. His involvement in children's games shows us the importance in playing with our children. He would have fun with the children who had come back from Abyssinia and tried to speak in Abyssinian with them. It was his practice to give lifts on his camel to children when he returned from journeys. The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam always expressed his love for children, which is vitally important for their healthy development.

WORDS: Once his grandson Hasan radhiallahu anhu came running until he embraced the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, who said, `O Allah, I love him; love him and love one who loves him.' (Muslim)

KISSES: The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam would pick up his son Ibrahim radhiallahu anhu and kiss him. (Muslim)

TOLERANCE: Umm Khalid radhiallahu anha was playing with the seal of prophethood (between the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam's shoulders) when she was a small girl and her father scolded her for that. The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, `Leave her.' (Bukhari)
