The Qur'aan and Ramadaan

Holy Revelations
Prophet Ibrahim alaihis salaam’s scriptures were revealed on the first night of Ramadaan, the Taurah (original Old Testament) was revealed on the 6th of Ramadaan, the Injeel (original Bible) on the 13th of Ramadaan and the Qur’aan was revealed on the 24th of Ramadaan. (Bukhari) Imam Ahmed rahimahullah narrates that the Qur’aan was revealed on the 25th.

Study the Qur’aan
Ibn Abbas radhiallahu anhuma said: ‘The Prophet of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam was the best of people and he used to be the best of what he was in the month of Ramadaan when Jibraeel alaihis salaam used to meet him. He used to meet him on every night of Ramadaan and mutually study the Qur’aan with him.’

How to Read
When the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam was asked who is best in Qur’anic recitation, he answered: ‘The one who you see fearing Allah, the High, the Sublime, when you hear him read.’

Beautiful Recitation
The Hadith says: ‘Adorn the Qur’aan with your voices.’ Learn to read the Qur’aan with the proper rules of Tajweed.

Invitation
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said: ‘The Qur’aan is Allah’s banquet. Therefore turn towards His banquet as much as you can.’

Angels’ Company
‘Never does a group of people gather in any house from amongst Allah’s houses (therein) reciting Allah’s Book and studying between themselves except that tranquillity descends upon them, mercy encompasses them, the Angels surroundthem and Allah makes mention of them to those Angels who are before him.’ The Qur’aan’s family is Allah’s family and His special associates. (Hadith)
